Horses

I've ridden for as long as I can remember. Lessons, trail rides, gymkhanas, vacations.

I trained as an instructor with the British Horse Society and exercised the horses of the British Army's Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment for six years. My focus now is dressage and I’ve trained at yards in London, Toronto and New York, competing and winning some ribbons along the way. If I'm not riding horses, I'm photographing them.

Black background portraits, horses in the wild, horses at their barns and with their owners, I love it all – and truth be told, my focus for vacation spots more often than not centers around areas where I can spend some time with wild horses. And the family, of course!

My wild horse collections from the Camargue in the south of France and from Assateague Island in Maryland are below as is my black background collection from a horse rescue farm in Waterdown, Ontario. If you’re interested in purchasing a piece, please check out my store or reach out to me here for a custom order.

I also do a lot of shoots to capture horses and their people. Owning a horse is a huge commitment. We pour so much of ourselves into them and their training, but rarely get a chance to just stand back and appreciate them and our relationship with them. Horse and owner sessions are the perfect way to capture just that. Sometimes the session is focused around a particular season, or capturing the day to day and sometimes it’s to make lasting memories before the horse goes into retirement. Some of my favorite images from these types of shoots are included in the collection below.
