Summer holidays and landscape photography
I took the kids back to Scotland this summer. This is Lochranza Castle on the island of Arran. I grabbed a couple of hours while everyone else was still sleeping to go out and shoot some of my favourite places. The 5am start paid off as I had this to myself (well, I shared with a couple of sheep) and no pressure to ‘'Hurry up Mum”. I love the colors. The browns and blues fall opposite each other on the Color Wheel making them Complimentary Colors. This is just one element of Color Theory, which can really help bring photography to life. If you’re interested in learning more, there’s a ton of info on Google. Ted Gore’s article on Color Theory and Landscape Photography, for example, is a really good introduction.
